About The Position

ThedaCare Community Health Education (CHE) Manager will be an innovative, hard-working, and educationally minded individual to direct our Community Health Training Programs and lead our AHA Training Center operations. The CHE manager plays a pivotal role in providing leadership for the education, administrative support, and overall employee morale for training programs, for the community and extending to our staff as system needs require. The incumbent will also be, or become, an expert in scope of services covered or assigned for CHE and have teaching experience such that they advance our Mission & Vision – To advance the health of our communities through excellence and discovery, inspiring each person to live their unique best life & To be your trusted partner, transforming healthcare for everyone, every day. Span of Control: Manages the Community Education Program Department, including management of staff, operations, budget and finance, marketing, interdepartmental collaboration, and community relations. Covers training for the community across the ThedaCare system as well as the greater Froedtert ThedaCare North Region through American Heart Association and other curriculum programs including but not limited to: Emergency Care & Safety Institute training programs, Safe Kids Programs, Child Safety Seat (CPST) Programs, ASHI, Stop the Bleed, Wellness Programs and Mental Health First Aid. Manage system and volunteer AHA trainers in FT North Region.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field; AND five (5) years of managerial experience in education programs; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience as determined by Human Resources with the VP of GME.
  • Knowledge of aspects of finance, human resources and background in healthcare or emergency services a plus.
  • Must have or obtain certification(s) as an AHA Instructor and the Safe Kids Child Passenger Safety Technician Certification as a minimum.
  • Must include specialty expertise and at least 3 years of documented educational and/or administrative experience in healthcare
  • The ability to effectively build positive, constructive relationships with others aimed at building collaboration, consensus, and high-performance teams
  • Models professionalism in work quality, actions, interpersonal skills, and communications with constituents and business partners
  • Works well with cross-functional teams and experientially diverse stakeholders
  • High-level of Emotional Intelligence
  • Principles and practices of business management, including finance, accounting, budgeting, reporting, compliance, contract management, project management, marketing, customer service, strategic planning, effective management of resources and employee supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Safe Kids Instructor Certification Preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes the overall vision, mission, and goals of CHE and directs operations, manages standard operating procedures and assures consistent interpretation of policies and procedures. Handles project management directs the development of solutions for division issues; monitors and evaluates division work groups and assures that the services and work products meet quality and safety standards.
  • Act as AHA Training Center Coordinator Lead and fulfills all duties and responsibilities of the role to maintain Training Center and Training Site accreditation. Conduct site and/or teaching evaluations for community partners, lead our AHA (and other) site inspections limiting potential violations, Investigate, report, and determine a level of action for any AHA (or other curriculum compliance standards) violations.
  • Supports curriculum compliance with all AHA, ECSI, CPST, ASHI and other curriculum training requirements and any applicable subspecialty board requirements or best practices. Provides expertise in curriculum standards and applicable sub-specialty requirements or recommendations to ensure the quality of Community Health learning and the learning environment.
  • Maintains responsibility for the program budget (planning, forecasting and prediction of needs) and all required financial reporting through the various payment platforms utilized, in compliance with agency funding standards; recommends efficiencies to keep costs within established financial guidelines; analyzes program costs and results.
  • Maintain and update the various program website content. Draft marketing/PR content and promotion plans in conjunction with the ThedaCare Brand, Marketing and Communications.
  • Evaluates which free community services are CBISA reportable and ensures those services are reported to reduce overall organizational tax liability. Ensure CBISA reporting for the program is timely and accurate.
  • Perform SWOT analysis and other business evaluations regularly to ensure adequate pricing strategies for community courses and maintain competitiveness in the market. Design, implement and adjust business strategy to maintain community engagement. Develops action plans to meet community needs and division targets; meets with community leaders to help identify needs. Ensure programs appeal to a diverse audience and are inclusive.
  • Acts as member of a multidisciplinary team for community health work and staff development. Consult and work with other medical and/or mental community health professionals within the greater FT North Region community as needed. Serve on community or professional committees and boards to form strategic partnerships as deemed valuable (i.e., AHA Educational Subcommittee, local passenger safety coalitions). Maintain community partnerships and engagement.
  • Provide constructive and professionally developed feedback to staff, community partners, and indirect members of team in a timely manner utilizing a communication style that increases morale, challenges abilities, and inspires growth and development
  • Assist program staff with all delegated administrative duties including, but not limited to; curriculum development, scheduling, evaluations, lectures, health fair planning and execution, counseling and mentoring staff, clinical and didactic teaching, scholarly activities (i.e., AHA Research Projects), quality improvement activities, recruitment, onboarding, orientation, and team building efforts.
  • Collaborates and consults with other divisions such as Wellness, Brand, Nursing Excellence, GME, SIM, and Business Development to provide support and build relationships that create a valuable organizational relationship, joint initiatives, or provide additional support as needed.
  • Researches and provides consultation on specific Community Education issues; develops and presents reports on issues and solutions; coordinates with private, state, and Federal regulatory agencies. Embraces networking opportunities.
  • Assists in grant research and writing grant proposals for the division in collaboration with the foundation.
  • Comply with all ThedaCare policies and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Maintain contemporary professional knowledge and education. Maintain good standing within the community and ThedaCare.
