About The Position

At Johnson & Johnson, the Manager Commercial Reliability will engage in the design, deployment, operation, and continuous improvement of commercial End to End IT Products. The role focuses on improving IT Product quality through preventative and proactive measures, automating reliability issues, and collaborating with product lines to deliver high-quality, highly reliable commercial applications. Responsibilities include optimizing existing systems, building automation into infrastructure, applications, deployment, release, and operations. The manager will partner with business leaders to identify solutions, work with customers, developers, architects, and product owners to automate issues and build robust application solutions. Other duties involve vendor evaluation and selection, developing cost models, coordinating contracts, monitoring system health, performing pre-production validation, and recommending design and architectural decisions. Requirements

  • Master's degree in Information Science, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
  • 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a Manager Commercial Reliability-related occupation

Responsibilities

  • Engage in the design, deployment, operation, and continuous improvement of commercial End to End IT Products.
  • Improve IT Product quality by focusing on preventative and proactive measures, eliminating and automating product reliability issues, and collaborating with product lines to deliver high-quality, highly reliability commercial applications.
  • Continuously optimize existing systems, building automation into infrastructure, applications, deployment, release, and operations.
  • Partner with business leaders to analyze and identify solutions to business problems.
  • Work directly with customers, developers, architects, and product owners to help automate customer issues and drive solutions to build more robust and reliable Commercial Application solutions.
  • Evaluate, engage and select vendors.
  • Develop a cost model for product services to evaluate service cost/benefit.
  • Coordinate and maintain contracts in collaboration with procurement and legal services.
  • Keep revenue and reputation-critical systems up and running by measuring and monitoring availability, performance, and overall system health.
  • Perform pre-production validation before go-live through system design consulting, developing software platforms and frameworks, capacity planning, and Production Readiness reviews.
  • Create, fix, extend and scale the code to maintain service and implement improvements such as automation to improve reliability and velocity, and evolve systems.
  • Recommend appropriate design and architectural decisions.
