About The Position

This position facilitates strategic partnership within the organization by communicating, educating, and collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure documentation is timely, accurate, and to the fullest specificity to warrant appropriate capture of the severity of illness and risk of mortality amongst the organization’s population. They work closely with physician leaders, APP Leaders, Nursing leadership, Ancillary leadership, Coding leadership, and Coders as cross-departmental issues arise. Efforts to improve will be evaluated for both upstream and downstream effects and will be collaboratively shared with all stakeholders. This position ensures that CDI staff have all the necessary tools to complete their jobs effectively. This position works in partnership with key participants to ensure that documenting providers have the necessary tools and resources to document completely, accurately, and within compliance and regulatory standards. Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Nursing required
  • RN: Registered Nurse License required
  • 7-10 years clinical experience as an RN required
  • Minimum 5 years experience in CDI preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Masters preferred
  • CCDS (certified clinical documentation specialist) preferred
  • Prior experience in a management role preferred
  • Knowledgeable in elements of medical billing/coding including: APR-DRGs, EAPGs, E/M Coding, and CMS Coding Guidelines preferred
