About The Position

This position manages the day-to-day operations and essential functions for high-impact acute care functions, including budgets, scheduling, resource coordination, program oversight, capital assessment, materials, business plan development, and other operational and administrative functions. The role involves planning, organizing, facilitating, and monitoring activities and functions of business operations within high-value acute care procedural and clinical areas, supporting clinical leadership in a facility setting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field of study.
  • Five (5) years of experience in healthcare business operations.
  • Successful completion of the Postgraduate Administrative Fellowship Program (waives experience requirement).

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manages day-to-day support of delegated operations for the department/acute care function.
  • Assists in the development and coordination of strategies to improve clinical operational workflow and efficiency.
  • Develops, forecasts and manages key performance indicators to includes volumes, revenues, FTEs, salary, supply, and other expenses in alignment with system profitability targets.
  • Implements processes to monitor operational and capital costs.
  • Utilizes data management systems to access data relevant to maintaining profitability, cost management, strategic financial planning, and cost reduction strategies.
  • Leads and supports campus and system initiatives for key acute care functions.
  • Executes special projects as assigned.
  • Assesses and improves the department’s performance through data collection, analysis and monitoring.
  • Develops and implements processes that guide and support provision of services.
  • Provides dashboards, initiative updates/reports and other key information as assigned.
  • Oversees data information systems for department operations and performance improvement activities.
  • Manages department human resources by determining qualifications, competence and performance expectations; implementing and monitoring staffing plans; providing orientation, in-service training and continuing education of all persons in the department and applying policies/procedures pertaining to human resources management.
  • Assists in preparations for state and federal regulatory and/or Joint Commission visits to ensure department regulatory readiness.
  • Provides directs and indirect supervision of support staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
