About The Position

This role offers the opportunity to lead and optimize business operations within healthcare finance, focusing on patient billing, collections, and regulatory compliance. You will act as a subject matter expert, driving standardization and efficiency across multiple ambulatory surgery centers while ensuring adherence to HIPAA, Medicare, and other federal, state, and local regulations. The position requires collaboration with internal stakeholders, operational assessments, process improvement initiatives, and training of staff to maintain consistent and effective practices. With significant travel, you will be a key contributor to operational excellence and strategic decision-making, providing insight for both ongoing operations and potential acquisitions. This is a high-impact role where analytical rigor, attention to detail, and strong communication skills are essential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of healthcare billing experience; experience in Ambulatory Surgery Center operations preferred
  • Strong knowledge of billing, collections, and compliance regulations, including HIPAA and Medicare
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and interact professionally at all organizational levels
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and exercise sound judgment
  • High integrity and commitment to maintaining confidential information
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50%

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor standardized patient billing and collections processes across the region
  • Act as a subject matter expert on billing and collection practices, advising internal and external stakeholders
  • Evaluate, update, and improve billing systems and operational workflows, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements
  • Conduct audits, assess performance metrics, and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Provide training to centers on business office policies, procedures, and system usage
  • Review acquisition opportunities’ billing and collection systems, offering recommendations for operational alignment
  • Support compliance and licensure activities, including chart audits, statistical reporting, and Medicare regulations monitoring
