About The Position

The Manager of Business Development is responsible for creating a strategy for new opportunities and leads in the North American region to sell the company’s products. This role is also responsible for the direction and supervision of the Business Development Representatives in the North American region. This role acts as the face of the company and helps nurture business relationships and develop high-potential prospects. The Manager of Business Development is a champion for prospecting, lead generation and qualification, and relationship building efforts. The Manager will be active on social media and other channels and be active in various industry-specific groups. This position will report to our sales office in Alpharetta, GA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related discipline preferred.
  • Three to five years of successful business experience.
  • Proven leadership skills with direct people management experience.
  • Experience in territory planning, pipeline creation, and metrics-driven management; comfort engaging and developing cross-different relationships.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Outreach, ZoomInfo, SalesNav (or equivalents) to drive focus and reporting.
  • Excellent coaching, communication, and executive-ready presentation skills.
  • Able to multi-task; detail-oriented with excellent time management skills.
  • Comfortable interacting with C-level executives.

Nice To Haves

  • Financial or Accounting background helpful.
  • Experience with financial software helpful.
  • Familiarity with EPM/CPM solutions (OneStream or similar) is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop multiple Business Development Representatives in your territory: hiring support, onboarding, weekly 1:1s, live-call coaching, strategy/best practice adoption, and performance management.
  • Build and execute a territory strategy and growth plan to align daily activity with quarterly objectives.
  • Achieve assigned KPIs, meetings and revenue targets.
  • Prospect and oversee outreach across channels (email, phone, social, events); implement disciplined follow-up and multi-threading into finance leadership.
  • Partner with Sales & Marketing on local & virtual event campaigns, and follow-up strategies to increase velocity and win rates.
  • Grow the Sales funnel and manage pipeline coverage to target.
  • Refine messaging and best practices using market/competitive insights; scale what works across the team.
  • Research, analyze and monitor market, competitive and target industry factors to capitalize on business development opportunities.
  • Participate in strategic development of territory and accounts.
