About The Position

The Manager, Business Development leads the Business Development team by defining objectives, priorities and deadlines required to meet short term goals and objectives. Is responsible for the success of each team member. Typically manages the work efforts of supervisors/individual contributors. Manages, motivates and empowers the business development team, ensuring the achievement of targeted quotas. Analyzes sales reports to project sales trends, ascertain profitability benchmarks, and identifies market opportunities. Manages teams responsible for identifying and comprehensively analyzing customer preferences, thereby guiding and optimizing sales strategies. Engages in communication with customers to gain insight into requirements, matching those needs with appropriate product solutions. Oversees the resolution of customer complaints, addresses staffing challenges, and proactively manages issues that may impact the efficiency of sales operations. Works closely with leadership to formulate innovative sales quotas and strategies. prepares sales budgets, exercises oversight over expenses, allocates territories, and establishes performance benchmarks for the business development teams. Works with Legal and Customer Service teams to initiate, oversee, and navigate the contracting process. Represents the company at trade association meetings, advocating for the organization's interests. Participates in the responsibility of managing territories, developing local business partnerships and forging organizational affiliations. Leads cross-functional coordination with technical, customer service, and support teams, ensuring holistic customer engagement, satisfaction, and driving revenue growth. Conducts comprehensive research, identifying and exploring novel business prospects in close collaboration with marketing teams. Plays an important role in the sales cycle, from identifying prime opportunities to managing leads, educating clients, delivering presentations, presenting compelling proposals, and executing successful deal closures. Conducts research and fosters relationships with local, regional, and national companies/brands, highlighting advantages associated with investing in collegiate athletics.

Requirements

  • Minimum Experience: 8+ Years
  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree
