About the position

The Manager of Business Continuity at City National Bank is responsible for leading the Business Continuity Risk Management (BCRM) program, which is essential for identifying, measuring, monitoring, and mitigating risks associated with business continuity. This role involves overseeing adherence to policies and standards, providing oversight of the first line of defense business continuity program, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The manager will also mentor a team of professionals and collaborate with various stakeholders to enhance the effectiveness of business continuity practices across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall direction and success of the 2LOD Business Continuity Risk Management program.
  • Lead and mentor a team of Business Continuity risk professionals, providing guidance and support.
  • Provide credible challenge to 1LOD colleagues to ensure risk mitigation measures are upheld.
  • Develop, monitor and report on BCRM, including Business Continuity, Crisis Management, and Operational Resilience programs.
  • Define and implement relevant policies and procedures for effective corporate Business Continuity and Crisis Management programs.
  • Review and maintain all program policies and standards for alignment to US regulatory expectations.
  • Provide oversight on the bank's annual BCRM program components, including Business Impact Analysis and Business Continuity Plans.
  • Manage metrics to assess risk, compliance, and performance of the program.
  • Monitor, assess, and provide recommendations to minimize risk in plans.
  • Prepare and report metrics to various committees and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years of banking or financial services experience in business continuity risk, operational risk management, or compliance.
  • Minimum 8 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory BCP guidance, specifically for the FFIEC and the OCC.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and report writing skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical and risk assessment skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to communicate with senior executives.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in crisis management and operational resilience programs.
  • Familiarity with industry-leading Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and tools.
