About The Position

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced market research professional to join the Capital One Enterprise Brand Insights Team to lead a new research operations function within the Brand department. In this role, you will provide best-in-class market research operations leadership and serve as a functional subject matter expert to a team of primary market researchers in the delivery of insights that inform marketing, advertising, and brand building strategies for the company. The ideal candidate will have proven experience managing and prioritizing multiple primary market research programs and projects on time and on budget in a highly collaborative environment, as well as designing and implementing operational standards, processes, and artifacts. This role is designed for someone who likes to see a large volume of interesting and complex work move forward in a coordinated, efficient, and overall well-managed way.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a primary market research (supplier or client side) or project management role for a marketing organization (agency or brand side)
  • At least 1 year of experience in a market research operations role or managing complex market research programs

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor Degree in market research, marketing, business, sociology, psychology, or behavioral economics
  • Advanced degree, such as an MBA or an MS (business, marketing research, consumer psychology, management consulting, or related field)
  • Organizational and project management skills, with a solid understanding of market research project workflows
  • Experience managing complex market research programs
  • Self-motivated and entrepreneurial – comfortable with white space and interested in proactively proposing and pursuing new research projects to address partner questions
  • At least 6 years experience in a market research operations or project management role
  • At least 3 years experience in a market research role on the client side
  • At least 2 years of experience at a Fortune 500 company or a company well-known for the marketing and market research disciplines

Responsibilities

  • Lead the research operations function within the Brand Insights team. This includes creating (or updating), documenting, communicating, managing and improving standards, templates, processes, and engagement models with the team and partners (both internal and external)
  • Lead and manage the operational aspects of several core research programs, including brand health and communications trackers, creative pre-testing, in-market advertising and media effectiveness studies, as well as ad-hoc custom qualitative and quantitative studies. This includes program communications, vendor management, process documentation and compliance, budget management, timeline management, asset and knowledge delivery/management
  • Manage primary research tools, third-party data tools, and syndicated resource access, usage and capabilities
  • Develop a strong partnership with finance, legal, agency relations, compliance and risk to ensure research is conducted compliantly across Capital One
  • Coordinate recurring team level communications. This includes activities such as onboarding new Enterprise Brand Insights team members, socializing team capabilities to new hires at the company, creating newsletters, and sharing project pipeline updates
