Breeze’s Manager Avionics, Interiors and Structures Engineering is responsible for managing engineering activities related to aircraft Avionics, Structures, Interiors, and related components on the Airbus and Embraer aircraft. The Manager of Engineering is responsible for and supports the company’s aircraft fleet by maintaining airworthiness and regulatory compliance as required by the FAA. This position requires experience with aircraft and related systems, federal regulations, development of modifications and repairs, project planning, and project management. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, aircraft Avionics, Structures, and Interiors; configuration management; certification approvals; airworthiness directives; data analysis; project development and implementation; and oversight of component reliability solutions. The Manager Avionics, Interiors and Structures Engineering will lead and manage engineering projects to support the company’s goal to ensure it is on time and on budget.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or other related technical fields
  • 10+ years of engineering experience relating to aircraft Avionics, Structures, Interiors, and related components
  • 10+ years of experience required in technical report writing skills to prepare test plans, test results, structural analysis substantiations, and regulatory compliance reports
  • 10+ years of experience working in Part 121 and/or 135 airline environment – Technical Services / Engineering department or comparable maintenance and overhaul experience
  • Knowledge of Airbus A220 and Embraer aircraft structures, interiors and avionics.
  • Must have valid passport and have the ability to travel internationally
  • Familiar with and have general understanding of Time Controlled Parts, Reliability Programs, FARs, Manufacturers Documentation to include but not limited to Maintenance Manuals, IPCs, Trouble Shooting Manuals, Wiring Diagrams, Aircraft Drawings, and CMMs, SBs, STCs, and ADs
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to communicate to leadership
  • Must be able to handle high-stress situations
  • Able to manage and coordinate several tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work with individuals and teams at all levels in the organization

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the aircraft Avionics, Structures, Interiors, and reliability programs
  • Manage and approve engineering documentation to ensure it supports company goals and timelines
  • Assign and monitor engineer’s projects to ensure on time performance
  • Provide and coordinate troubleshooting to resolve chronic items using the Fault Isolation Manual (FIM) procedures or consulting with the manufacturer for further assistance
  • Work in conjunction with Maintenance Control and Maintenance Operations to minimize aircraft out-of-service time, delays and deferred maintenance Items (DMI’s)/MEL items
  • Support requests for technical assistance from all company departments
  • Evaluate and prioritize requests, communicate with all applicable departments, and execute on plans
  • Develop technical data required for modifications, repairs, and troubleshooting of aircraft Avionics, Structures, Interiors, and related components
  • Obtain regulatory approval for modifications and repairs
  • Review and take action in response to Airworthiness Directives (AD) to ensure compliance with FAA, TCCA, ANAC and other regulatory agency requirements and guidance
  • Review Service Bulletins, Service Letters, modifications, and other engineering technical documents for applicability, systems reliability, and economical benefits
  • Participate in budget and fiscal policy-setting discussions
  • Available to work off hours to support the operation with engineering requests
  • Represent engineering at all internal and industry meetings
  • Other duties as assigned to assist Breeze in achieving its operational goals and objectives
