About The Position

As a Manager of Avionics Manufacturing Engineering, you will play a crucial role in developing and guiding the manufacturing team while defining key projects, goals, and initiatives Your expertise in lean manufacturing will be essential in identifying production gaps and inefficiencies, advocating for the implementation of tools, systems, and processes that enhance overall performance You will be responsible for driving continuous improvement across the production floor, ensuring that the team meets high standards of quality and efficiency Your leadership will be vital in optimizing manufacturing workflows, reducing waste, mentoring the growing engineering team, and achieving operational excellence

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
  • 6+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with at least 3 years of experience in a leadership or management role
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing of avionics systems, including PCBA manufacturing; harness fabrication; and electronics box assemblies
  • Background in lean manufacturing principles; process optimization; and quality management systems
  • Prior experience with scaling low-volume or pilot production lines to high volume
  • Strong communication skills, capable of working cross-functionally with design, production, and executive teams

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of AS9100 processes and quality management systems
  • Experience with electronics supply chain management
  • Familiarity with quality process controls for PCBAs, wire harnesses, and electromechanical assemblies
  • Familiarity with environmental testing of avionics hardware per standards such as SMC-S-016, DO-160, or similar
