The Aquatics Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operation of all water attractions and aquatic areas, ensuring compliance with established safety and operational standards. This role leads the development and execution of training programs, with a strong focus on safety, guest satisfaction, and team member engagement.

Requirements

  • (3) three years theme park aquatics or park operations supervisory experience, or bachelor’s degree and equivalent combination of experience.
  • Experience working in or leading aquatic operations strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of American Red Cross certification and training requirements for all aquatic positions, including but not limited to, Lifeguarding, Shallow Water Guard CPR and First Aid.
  • Ability to obtain American Red Cross Lifeguard certification within 1 month of employment, and Lifeguard Instructor certification within 6 months of employment.
  • Intermediate computer skills (including Excel, Word, financial systems, and Outlook)
  • Demonstrate initiative, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills; Confident and outgoing presence with the ability to professionally interact with various levels of ambassadors and leadership.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects with a detail-oriented style.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills; must be able to analyze reports, data and processes.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time in extreme weather conditions.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include weekdays, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Consistently practices safe work habits including, but not limited to the use of personal protective equipment, lifting, and reporting of unsafe situations.
  • Must be willing to comply with and ensure ambassadors comply with all SEA grooming guidelines and employment standards.
  • Must be able to successfully complete all legal, company and department training requirements to include but not limited to passing required tests and certifications within established timelines.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s license and be able to meet SEA Driving Guidelines (or obtain as required)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in or leading aquatic operations strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Daily management of all park operations and water attractions in compliance with established operational and safety standards.
  • Responsible for training programs and operations, ensuring that safety, quality, employee engagement and guest courtesy are paramount.
  • Responsible for implementation and oversight of all water safety programs for guests and ambassadors, to include lifeguard audits as conducted by the American Red Cross, and SEA
  • Proactively manage the guest experience to ensure all guest concerns are prevented and/or resolved in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for managing inventory, ordering, and park setup of furniture, supplies, and equipment for the Aquatics Department. This includes, but is not limited to, life vests (PFDs), tubes, rescue equipment, water park furniture, and ride vehicles.
  • Participate in the Park Duty Manager program.
  • Work closely with Human Resources and Scheduling to ensure maximum efficiency in labor utilization ensuring the Aquatics department is appropriately staffed to deliver superior service to guests.
  • Ensure resources are available to ambassadors to allow their success in overall job performance.
  • Responsible for clearly communicating ambassador expectations and ensuring behaviors align with expectations.
  • Work closely with support areas including but not limited to Guest Arrival, Security, Culinary, Retail, Park Services, Human Resources, Environmental, Health and Safety, to ensure that resources are available to support overall park success.
