About The Position

Objective of the Position: The Manager, Advanced Manufacturing & Automation is responsible for ensuring that machinery and process control developments and designs comply with Purem specification by providing guidance over the activities of all Controls and Robotics Engineers staff to ensure that a strong machinery control & cell/facility control strategy is developed, installed, maintained and furthered. In collaboration with HR this position will develop and roll out an apprenticeship program that is going to strengthen the technical expertise of the maintenance teams in the regional plants. Will collaborate directly with senior leadership, influence long-term manufacturing technology roadmaps, and mentor regional and plant-level engineering & maintenance teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in field or closely related field or equivalent experience
  • 5–10+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing systems, industrialization, or maintenance engineering.
  • Minimum five years’ experience in supervising personnel.
  • Minimum five years’ experience working for a manufacturing supplier, preferably automotive.
  • Minimum five years’ experience in managing outside vendors/services.
  • Demonstrated leadership deploying SAP PM, PLM, and predictive maintenance systems globally.
  • Extensive experience improving OEE, equipment reliability, and operational performance.
  • Strong background in lean manufacturing and process optimization.
  • Ability to travel domestically by car or plane.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office & SAP.
  • PLM lifecycle management standardization.
  • Predictive analytics and condition-based monitoring.
  • OEE frameworks, reliability engineering, downtime analytics.
  • Knowledge of automation/PLC systems.
  • Industry 4.0, smart factory, and digital manufacturing technologies.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts and operations, including calculations, percentages, etc.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, and write simple correspondence.
  • Analytical- Synthesize complex or diverse information; Collects and researches data; Uses intuition and experience to complement data; Designs work flows and procedures.
  • Business Acumen- Understands business implications of decisions.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement of products for manufacturability.
  • Knowledge of engineering fundament, mechanical systems, and automotive systems.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations.
  • Project Management- Develops project plans; Coordinates projects; Communicates changes and progress; Completes projects on time and budget; Manages project team activities.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures that machinery & process control development & designs comply with Purem specification, through actions of self and staff.
  • Guide the activities of all Manufacturing Engineering staff to ensure that a strong machinery control & cell/facility control strategy is developed, installed, maintained and furthered.
  • Provide Controls Engineering input to all programs, product or process development, as per the APQP and other TS16949 processes.
  • Ensure, through personal example and by leadership of assigned personnel, that a common ‘details and data’ oriented approach to manufacturing processes and machine/cell & facility control is pursued.
  • Supports the integration of predictive maintenance, energy-monitoring analytics, digital dashboards, and Industry 4.0 capabilities.
  • Owns and defines KPIs, analytic structures, and reporting standards.
  • Champion Right First Time (RFT) methodology to elevate manufacturing quality.
  • Benchmark equipment and system performance across regions.
  • Successful development and roll out of apprenticeship program for maintenance technicians in collaboration with HR
  • Develop or facilitate others in the development of inter-plant technical information exchange, within Purem and the ‘Industry’ in general.
  • Conduct all business-related activities for, and on the behalf of, Eberspaecher within the limits of applicable local, state, and federal legal requirements.
  • Provide support to, and compliance with, all local and corporate Eberspaecher Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures and other HSE related requirements.
  • Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and follows all ENA polices related to TS16949 and ISO 14001; looking for ways to improve and promote quality.
  • Other duties as assigned.
