About The Position

Position Summary… The Manager, Advanced Analytics is a key driver in incubating and scaling new business capabilities from the ground up. This role goes beyond traditional analytics - partnering deeply across business, product, and engineering teams to build solutions across the full lifecycle, from concept and hypothesis through prototype, implementation, and scale. You will act as a strategic and analytical thought partner to business leaders, helping translate complex, ambiguous problems into actionable analytics, research plans, and data‑driven solutions. This role is highly focused on new business growth, innovation, and building scalable capabilities from scratch, combining strong analytical depth with business acumen and product mindset. About the Team… The Advanced Analytics team partners with business leaders to understand enterprise goals, functional objectives, and emerging challenges - translating them into actionable analytics, research plans, and data‑driven solutions. This organization collaborates cross‑functionally to deliver insights, prototypes, and production‑ready models that enable smarter decisions, accelerate innovation, and drive strategic and operational excellence. The team plays a critical role in incubating new capabilities, building foundational analytics and data products, and supporting business transformation efforts across Walmart.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, or related field and 2 years' experience in data analytics or related field OR 4 years' experience in data analytics or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Business Partnership & Insight Delivery Partner with Directors and senior leaders to understand business goals, functional priorities, and emerging challenges.
  • Translate complex, ambiguous business needs into clear hypotheses, research objectives, and analytical approaches.
  • Develop tactical research and analytics plans and guide leaders on next steps based on insights.
  • Present clear, actionable recommendations that inform strategic and operational initiatives.
  • Build trusted relationships with leadership and key stakeholders to support solution adoption and implementation.
  • Own end‑to-end work streams and individual projects across business areas, categories, prototypes, or new business initiatives.
  • Lead analytics work across the full lifecycle—from ideation and proof‑of-concept to implementation and scale.
  • Anticipate and manage risks associated with solution development, testing, and deployment.
  • Balance scope, timelines, and feasibility while maintaining focus on business impact.
  • Build data models, algorithms, and analytical approaches that drive measurable business outcomes.
  • Apply advanced analytics to solve complex business problems and translate findings into strategic actions.
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams to transition models and analytical solutions into real‑world implementation.
  • Ensure rigorous testing, validation, and performance measurement.
  • Lead development of prototypes and production-ready algorithmic and analytical solutions.
  • Drive testing and validation processes to ensure accuracy, performance, and business relevance.
  • Collaborate closely with Advanced Analytics experts, product, and engineering teams to develop innovative approaches.
  • Support the creation of scalable analytics “products,” not just one‑off analyses.
  • Collaborate with functional leaders and cross-functional partners (e.g., Product, Engineering, Categories, Merchandising, Customer Experience).
  • Interface with external partners and vendors to support data sourcing or solution development when needed.
  • Drive clarity on goals, progress, dependencies, and accountability across stakeholders.
  • Promote adaptability, strong communication, and continuous learning.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, values, ethics, and integrity standards.
