About The Position

This role involves owning workstreams and individual projects end-to-end for a business area, category, or prototype, managing implementation risks, and coordinating job-related activities. It requires developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, supporting business needs, identifying goals, and promoting continuous learning. The manager will partner with leadership to understand business challenges, develop hypotheses, and identify analytics objectives, providing guidance and actionable recommendations. Key responsibilities include developing data models, managing the development and implementation of prototypes and complex algorithms, and overseeing testing and validation. The position also involves applying advanced analytics to solve complex business problems, making strategic recommendations, and managing data analysis strategies. Collaboration with functional leadership and cross-functional teams is essential for developing consultative solutions. Additionally, the role includes building and leading a team, coaching members, providing feedback, conducting performance conversations, and mentoring less experienced associates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Information Technology, or related field plus 2 years of data analytics experience or related experience; OR 4 years of data analytics experience or related experience.
  • Experience with analytical, statistical and ad-hoc reporting in large scale enterprise.
  • Experience working with multiple databases like Oracle, SQL server, etc.
  • Experience writing optimized SQL queries, troubleshooting for gap analysis and creating reliable and consistent tables, views for end users.
  • Experience gathering and cleaning, using programming languages like Python, R/SAS, or SQL to manipulate and analyze data.
  • Experience creating visualizations using BI tools like Tableau, Power BI or Looker.
  • Experience using MS office tools, Advanced Excel, VBA, confluence, JIRA and Visio.
  • Experience working with GitHub environment, API development, testing and deployment with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with ETL tools like Tableau prep, Alteryx, Dataiku or any other platform.
  • Experience working with big data technologies or cloud platforms like GCP and perform admin task by managing user access.
  • Experience creating data models, performing regression, time series, forecasting and predictive analytics.
  • Experience working with cross functional teams, business users and stakeholders, providing actionable insights and recommending business solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage risk associated with implementation.
  • Coordinate, complete, and oversee job-related activities and assignments by developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Support plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs.
  • Identify and communicate goals and objectives.
  • Build accountability for and measure progress in achieving results.
  • Identify and address improvement opportunities.
  • Demonstrate adaptability and promote continuous learning.
  • Work with leadership/business partners (e.g., Directors) to discuss and understand goals/functional objectives and key business challenges to develop hypotheses around current and future business issues.
  • Identify functional analytics and research objectives and develop tactical research plans.
  • Provide guidance to Directors and advise on next steps based on insights objectives and research.
  • Present actionable recommendations to Directors to inform strategic and tactical functional initiatives.
  • Provide and support the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with leadership and other key stakeholders.
  • Provide supervision and development opportunities for associates by hiring and training; mentoring; assigning duties; providing recognition; and ensuring diversity awareness.
  • Develop data models (algorithms, approaches) for workstreams and individual projects within a business area or category to drive business results and value.
  • Collaborate with project team to implement modeling solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and support company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans; utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy; and providing direction and guidance on applying these in executing business processes and practices.
  • Manage the development and implementation of prototypes and production-ready complex algorithms for workstreams and individual projects.
  • Manage the testing and validation process to monitor the solution.
  • Collaborate with Advanced Analytics Experts to develop new data analysis techniques.
  • Address complex business problems by applying advanced analytics to drive data-driven decision making.
  • Make strategic recommendations to team based on data analysis.
  • Manage and execute data analysis strategy, providing guidance to less experienced team members.
  • Collaborate with functional leadership and cross-functional teams (e.g., Categories, Customer Experience, Merchandising) to develop consultative solutions for workstreams and individual projects for a business area, category or prototype.
  • Interface with external business partners and vendors.
  • Build and lead a team to execute on business area or category objectives.
  • Coach team members and provide feedback to enhance skills, knowledge and work performance.
  • Conduct performance and career development conversations, if applicable.
  • Maintain team motivation and engagement.
  • Mentor less experienced associates.
