Key Position Details: 1.0 FTE (80 hours per two-week pay period) 8-hour day shifts No weekends Hybrid role This position will support Abbott Northwestern Hospital & Allina Commons Job Description: Leads the Continuing Medical Education (CME) accreditation program, and manages facets of provider education. Responsible to maintain Allina's status as an accredited provider for CME. Works with a team to manage the CME portion of conferences and other educational offerings.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Nursing, Nursing leadership, or Education
  • 7+ years in education role in a healthcare setting
  • Licensed Registered Nurse - MN Board of Nursing required for Registered Nurses in this role upon hire or Licensed Registered Nurse - WI Dept of Safety & Professional Services required for Registered Nurses in this role upon hire

Responsibilities

  • Continuing Medical Education program accreditation Leads certification cycle program application for Continuing Medical Education program accreditation. Maintains adherence to program accreditation standards between cycles.
  • Strategic planning for education Participates with Medical Staff Services department leadership to set strategic plan and tactics as needed, based on Allina’s overall strategic plan. Meets accountability for strategic goals and tactics. Identifies growth areas or areas in transition. Represents Medical Staff Services with stakeholders.
  • Design of learning solutions Provides consultation to Allina Health regional, site and system leaders, content experts, and professional staff. Carries out a full range of learning and development activities (assessment, planning, design, implementation, evaluation) that support provider education. Evaluates the effectiveness of learning. Makes recommendations within the Medical Staff team around prioritization or change in plans and tactics based on evaluations.
  • Direct staff leadership and management Manages professional staff within the department, including hiring, performance management, employee recognition and corrective action coaching. Assures appropriate resources through staffing and scheduling.
  • Operations and budget management Manages daily expenses to meet the budgeted targets set by the Directors. Manages allocation of staff, and equipment at the system, regional and local business unit. Leads and/or participates in the process of standardization of targeted learning solutions.
