About the position

Foursquare is looking for a Manager, Accounts Receivable to join our team, located in or near one of our office hubs - New York City or Chicago on a hybrid schedule of T,W,TH in office. The Accounts Receivable team is responsible for managing the company’s invoicing, collections, and payment application processes to ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition. They work cross-functionally with Sales/CS and Finance to resolve billing discrepancies, minimize outstanding balances, and maintain strong customer relationships. By leveraging analytical skills and attention to detail, the team helps optimize cash flow and reduce financial risk.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the end-to-end accounts receivable process, ensuring accurate invoicing, timely collections, and proper payment application
  • Lead and mentor the AR team, providing guidance, training, and support to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Monitor aging reports and collaborate with internal teams to resolve outstanding balances and billing discrepancies
  • Develop and implement process improvements to optimize cash flow and reduce delinquent accounts
  • Partner with Sales, Deal Desk, and Finance to align on billing policies, credit terms, and customer account management strategies
  • Prepare and present reports on AR performance, trends, and risk analysis to senior leadership

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in accounts receivable, collections, or a related finance role, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity
  • Proficiency in ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle, along with experience using billing and collections platforms; Salesforce & Tableau experience preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret aging reports and drive resolution strategies
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate cross-functionally and manage customer relationships
  • Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency
  • Microsoft Excel skills are a must (including VLOOKUP & Pivot Tables)
  • Experience with GAAP principles and understanding of revenue recognition concepts a plus
