Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required; CPA designation or equivalent strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3–5 years focused in Accounts Receivable or Order-to-Cash.
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience, including managing and developing teams.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles; IFRS experience is an asset.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA required; exposure to other ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, ECC, PeopleSoft) and to workflow ticketing system.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including power query, pivot tables, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and ability to build/manage large set of data and Power BI.
  • Proven track record of leading process improvements and implementing change management initiatives.
  • Ability to apply accounting expertise and sound judgment in problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and influencing skills with stakeholders at all levels.
  • High attention to detail, ability to manage competing priorities, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Senior Manager, OTC Operational Excellence to plan, manage, and deliver Accounts Receivable (AR) support services for Nutrien North America operations.
  • Lead and develop a team responsible for AR processes including reconciliations, cash application, AR adjustments, AFDA, unapplied cash, unclaimed property, invoicing, and general ledger payments.
  • Provide strong accounting and leadership oversight during the transition to SAP S/4HANA, while navigating coexistence with current systems (PeopleSoft, ARS, Hyland OnBase, SAP ECC, EBS Oracle).
  • Act as a subject matter expert in accounting practices, ensuring compliance with GAAP/IFRS standards, company policies, and audit requirements.
  • Identify areas for process improvement, develop and execute action plans, and drive sustainable results.
  • Leverage strong Excel and analytical skills to provide reporting, insights, and recommendations that support financial accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate across Finance, Credit, Treasury, IT, Operations, and other teams to resolve issues and improve end-to-end processes.
  • Mentor, coach, and support team members by setting clear goals, providing feedback, and preparing them for future leadership opportunities.
  • Contribute to broader business initiatives and change management efforts, ensuring adoption and success across the organization.
