About The Position

The (REMOTE) Manager, Accounting position is responsible for managing the Company's Fixed Assets and General Accounting Close Processes with the support of the Director Accounting over this group. Essential Responsibilities Ensures all accounting transactions are properly booked and reported in accordance with U.S. GAAP and Company policies. Ensures that accounting books are closed in a timely and accurate manner each month, quarter and year. Manages and maintains the fixed assets subledger including ensuring accuracy of the data within the fixed asset subledger, and the preparation and review of all journal entries as applicable. Prepares and reviews monthly account reconciliations and investigates reconciling items. Prepares and/or reviews monthly, quarterly and/or annual capital expenditure reports. Participates in the financials statement audit process by preparing lead schedules. Responds to internal and external data requests such as the tax and forecasting teams and internal and external auditors. Documents current accounting policies, procedures and controls ensuring compliance. Streamlines department functions to ensure optimal productivity, efficiency, and accuracy. Assesses current practices and procedures to make recommendations for improvement. Performs ad hoc analysis and projects as requested. Completes other projects and special assignments as requested by supervisor and/or senior management. Completes all required training modules and certifications prior to the due date. Ensures all safety policies and procedures are followed to ensure a safe work environment for all. Communicates professionally with all internal and external contacts. Follow all Company policies and execute Company standards on appearance and functionality as well as appropriate brand representation. Communicates any concerns or issues to leadership to ensure proper efficiency of department and Company operations. Execute team member performance improvement plans, progressively discipline and terminations when appropriate per Company policy. Non-Essential Responsibilities Executes Company initiatives and other activities requested by supervisor. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities. Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; explores opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Contributes ideas on ways to optimize or improve the team, the department, and the Company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 5+ years of Progressive Accounting experience primarily Fixed Assets required
