About The Position

This position will be based out of our office in Denver, CO, in alignment with our flexible work policy (3 days on site required, 2 days flexible). The Manager, Accounting is responsible for leading and overseeing all fixed asset‑related accounting activities across the organization. This role also plays a critical part in supporting the procurement function, managing the full asset lifecycle, and ensuring accurate financial reporting through month‑end, quarter-end and year-end close. The role will also be a key finance partner in the implementation of asset management technology tools, with a focus on asset capitalization, tracking, depreciation, and reporting. The Manager will supervise a team of two accountants, maintain fixed asset dashboards, and serve as the primary point of contact for all fixed asset‑related topics across the business.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, with a strong focus on fixed assets.
  • Proven experience managing fixed assets across the full lifecycle.
  • Prior experience supporting procurement related accounting and capitalization.
  • Experience leading or participating in ERP implementations or system enhancements.
  • Strong understanding of month end and quarter end close processes.
  • Prior experience managing or supervising staff.
  • Experience in capital intensive industries (real estate, infrastructure, data centers, manufacturing).
  • Advanced Excel and financial reporting skills.
  • Experience building dashboards or management reporting.
  • Travel required is expected to be up to 20% but may increase over time as the business evolves.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all fixed assets accounting activities, including asset capitalization, depreciation, transfers, impairments, and disposals.
  • Supervise the finance and accounting aspects of procurement‑related activities, ensuring assets are properly recorded and aligned with accounting policies.
  • Own and manage month‑end and quarter‑end close processes related to fixed assets, including journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Ensure accurate and timely fixed asset reporting, including balance sheet support and management reporting.
  • Maintain and enhance fixed asset dashboards to provide visibility into asset balances, additions, depreciation, and lifecycle status.
  • Act as the primary business partner and subject‑matter expert for all fixed‑asset‑related topics, supporting Procurement, Operations, CCF, and other stakeholders.
  • Lead the implementation and ongoing improvement of ERP systems as they relate to fixed assets, including process design, data integrity, and controls.
  • Establish and maintain full asset lifecycle analysis, from acquisition through disposal, to support financial, operational, and strategic decision‑making.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and internal controls related to fixed assets.
  • Support internal and external audits, including preparation of documentation and responses for fixed asset‑related inquiries.
  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of two accountants, including workload planning, performance feedback, and technical guidance.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of fixed asset accounting operations.
  • Participate in implementing reporting structures and processes for our large scale campuses.
  • Additional duties as assigned by Management.
