Construction Department The Construction team is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of Vantage’s physical data centers, from shovel‑ready state through commissioning and turnover to Operations. The team works closely with Sales, Operations, Development, and Engineering (D&E) to ensure projects are delivered in accordance with engineering standards, customer requirements, and operational performance criteria. Construction executes and validates the work product developed by the D&E team, with a strong focus on constructability, technical accuracy, and lifecycle performance. The Construction team also manages Vantage’s build partners through detailed technical review, engineering coordination, and active participation in schedule and budget management. Vantage Construction Managers are empowered to directly drive engineering and construction decisions. This internal ownership ensures that key stakeholders are engaged early and often, aligning long-term operational sustainability with value engineering, cost control, and schedule certainty. This approach enables each team member to make high-impact technical decisions that lead to even more impactful results. Position Description Vantage is seeking a Construction Manager to manage and drive success on new and ongoing small-, medium-, and large-scale construction projects within the Wisconsin market. This role encompasses full lifecycle ownership of technically complex construction projects, with a strong emphasis on engineering coordination, system integration, and execution excellence. The Construction Manager exercises autonomy and independent discretion across the following areas: Engineering-informed RFP development and comprehensive project budgeting Pre-bid technical review, constructability analysis, and coordination Oversight and management of all design phases and technical documentation Customer engagement related to technical requirements, system performance, and delivery expectations Coordination and supervision of design-build contractors and engineering trade partners Technical coordination with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts Oversight of physical construction activities with a focus on quality, safety, and engineering compliance Participation in commissioning, testing, and validation of building systems Technical hand-off of the physical data center and complete project documentation to Operations This role is based on-site in Port Washington, WI.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Structural), Construction Management, or a closely related field is required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing construction projects of increasing technical complexity; 7+ years preferred
  • Demonstrated experience managing both CSA (civil, structural, architectural) and MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) construction scopes
  • Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical standards

  • Data center or mission‑critical facility experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage project scope, schedule, and budget with a strong focus on technical risk mitigation
  • Drive all phases of construction including pre-construction, design development, permitting and entitlements, competitive bid processes, contractor selection, construction execution, commissioning, and closeout
  • Apply engineering judgment to evaluate design intent, construction methods, and system integration
  • Develop technically sound business cases and lead projects from concept through internal project approval
  • Collaborate closely with design engineers, operations teams, contractors, and clients to ensure technical alignment
  • Submit monthly project financial reporting, including forecasting, cash flow, and cost-to-complete analysis
  • Review contractor pay applications and conduct job walks to validate progress against engineering and construction milestones
  • Develop, manage, and assist with negotiation of contracts for engineering and construction vendors
  • Manage the input, review, and delivery of work products from internal teams to ensure compliance with project requirements, customer requirements, engineering standards, applicable codes, and specifications
  • Identify, document, and drive lessons learned, engineering optimizations, and cost and schedule savings throughout the project lifecycle
  • Work closely with Operations to align engineering design criteria with budget constraints and long-term maintenance and operational needs
  • Maintain strong awareness of mission‑critical facility operations and system reliability
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Management
