About The Position

The Role This manager role primarily focuses on the Accounting & Finance function for the Risk Management team. This role requires strong project management skills in a detail-oriented and fast-paced environment. Implement use of project management tool (e.g., Microsoft Project) and manage project schedules and prioritization of tasks. Manage preparation, review, and presentation of insurance program financial statements, audit reports, and forecasts for completeness and accuracy. Efficiently oversee standing and ad hoc project schedules and ensure issues and results are actioned timely. Oversee and assist with preparation of monthly cash and department forecasts. Manage updates to total cost of risk and financial performance slides for Hyatt insurance committee. Oversee preparation and distribution of monthly financial reporting for department to help track spend. Manage issuance of periodic actuarial reports. Monitor supplier service hour reporting and project ROls. Manage risk-management/insurance accounts payable processes and collaborate with Shared Service Center to ensure all payments and accruals are processed timely and with proper approvals. Collaborate with Corporate Accounting to perform consolidating journal entries, address reconciling items identified in account reconciliations, and provide periodic updates to leadership regarding insurance account balances. Manage collateral (letters of credit and surety bonds) - annual reviews and periodic updates.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience related to organizational Risk Management or Internal Audit, Accounting or Finance functions, and professional communications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, enterprise financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP), and enterprise risk management systems (e.g., Ventiv, Origami, RiskConnect)
  • Project management experience including use of a project management software application

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with insurance products
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification
  • Master of Business Administration, Master of Accounting, or Master of Science in Finance
