About The Position

The Management Intern for Outreach Experiences supports the planning, coordination, and delivery of high-impact programs and events that serve K–12 students and their families. This role provides broad support across all Outreach Experiences initiatives, including campus visits, college- and career-readiness workshops, large-scale events, and summer programming. Working under the direction of the Outreach Experiences leadership team, the intern contributes to smooth program operations, positive participant experiences, and effective event logistics. This position is ideal for a graduate student interested in education, higher education administration, community outreach, youth programming, or event planning. The role is fully in-person, front-facing, and requires direct engagement with current ASU students and K–12 students to promote a strong college-going culture. Candidate is required to be enrolled in a Graduate Program during the duration of employment and continuation of employment will be based on enrollment in a Graduate Program. Schedule & Appointment 100% in-person 20 hours per week, scheduled flexibly Monday–Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. based on programming needs and staff availability Occasional nights and weekends required Work primarily takes place on the ASU Tempe campus, with travel to other campuses and off-site school or community locations Requires full-time (40 hours/week) in June to support Access ASU summer programs Must maintain active enrollment in an ASU graduate program

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and two-years (2) experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
  • Candidate is required to be enrolled in a Graduate Program during the duration of employment and continuation of employment will be based on enrollment in a Graduate Program.

  • Experience mentoring, supervising, or leading college students or student workers
  • Experience coordinating event logistics or managing program scheduling
  • Experience facilitating workshops, programs, or classroom activities
  • Experience working in a university setting, especially in student support or outreach
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Knowledge of college and career readiness strategies
  • Experience with public speaking and presenting to groups
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English (reading, writing, speaking, listening)
  • Experience collecting, analyzing, or reporting data
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and/or social media platforms
  • Highly professional, reliable, organized, and attentive to detail

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, organizing, and executing Outreach Experiences programs, including campus visits, high school and middle school events, summer programs, college and career readiness workshops.
  • Support classroom activities, presentations, and hands-on programming that help students explore college and career pathways.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of programs that align with Access ASU outreach and enrollment goals.
  • Coordinate event logistics such as registration, materials preparation, venue setup, transportation flow, check-in, and staffing support.
  • Maintain organized digital files, worksheets, calendars, and shared documents to support team communication and program operations.
  • Assist in ensuring smooth day-of execution at events across campuses and community sites.
  • Support the coordination and training of student workers and event staff.
  • Provide excellent service to students, educators, families, and community partners.
  • Represent Access ASU professionally at all events.
  • Support data collection through attendance tracking, surveys, and post-event documentation.
  • Assist in preparing reports to track student participation, program outcomes, and overall effectiveness.
  • Offer feedback and recommendations for continuous improvement of programs.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned in support of Access ASU’s mission to increase access to higher education.
