About The Position

This role supports the Management Company Accounting team in monthly and quarterly close activities. Key responsibilities include preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations and rollforwards, organizing and improving financial data and documentation, and assisting with schedules for financial and management reporting. The role also provides opportunities to apply technical and analytical skills to streamline processes, support audits, and contribute to special projects, offering hands-on experience and exposure to accounting, finance, and data-driven solutions.

Requirements

  • Eligible to participate to Northeastern University’s undergraduate Co-op program
  • Strong record of academic achievement with a minimum GPA of 3.5 overall and in major (on a 4.0 scale), strongly preferred
  • Academic concentration in Finance or Accounting
  • Strong Excel skills (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, etc.), familiarity with Power Query and Alteryx a plus
  • Strong PowerPoint skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven track record of achievement in academic, leadership, and other settings
  • Creative and able to solve problems
  • Proactive, positive, and professional work ethic
  • Sharp attention to detail and the ability to deliver work product of high quality and accuracy
  • Are fundamentally an intellectually curious, resourceful, and team-driven person

Responsibilities

  • Assist with month-end and quarter-end close activities, including preparing accrual entries
  • Support the preparation of account reconciliations and rollforward schedules
  • Review and help maintain the general ledger according to coding guidelines, ensuring ledger accounts, spend categories, and cost centers align with the budget
  • Assist in organizing and improving financial data structures, files, and documentation
  • Support audit requests during interim reviews and the year-end audit process
  • Contribute to the preparation of the Management Company’s consolidated financial statements
  • Assist in preparing schedules and analyses for management reporting
  • Apply technical and analytical skills to automate and improve accounting and reporting processes using tools or data-driven approaches
  • Partner with accounting and finance teams to develop data-driven solutions that support business and financial needs
  • Participate in special projects related to accounting, data analysis, or process improvement
