About The Position

A Management Analyst II position is available with the City of Fort Worth Fire Department. This role will provide analytical oversight primarily in the areas of Fire’s General Fund and Fire Emergency Management Services (EMS) budget, special projects, donations and deployments. A strong sense of urgency, attention to detail, and the ability to work with both civilian and civil service personnel are essential. This position requires the capacity to work independently and in a team environment, while building effective working relationships across departments. The Management Analyst II reports directly to the Administrative Services Manager within Fire Administration Services.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Public Administration, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
  • Two (2) years of experience in the analysis of processes, procedures, operations, systems or methods, including experience in the management of revenue and operating budget

Responsibilities

  • Provides analytical oversight of the Fire Department’s General Fund and Fire Emergency Management Services (EMS) budget, including both revenues and expenditures totaling over $300 million.
  • Assists in the process of budget development, budget forecasting, monthly tracking, and reporting on budget to actuals and revenue throughout the year
  • Management of the Revenue Unit – comprised of two (2) full-time staff – developing work plans and monitors workflow; reviews and approves staff work product; and conducts performance appraisals
  • Manages special donations, deployments, LEOSE (Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education funds), Suburban Dispatching, and special event invoicing/revenue
  • Develops periodic reports on the financial data and trend analysis conducted, which may include tables, charts, and graphs depicting the data analysis
