JOB SUMMARY
The Mammography Training Director is a critical leadership role at RadNet. At RadNet, we screen more women for breast cancer than any other provider in the country, and we uphold the highest standards for quality and early detection through the use of state-of-the-art technology. The Director will work closely with the lead mammography technologists and management throughout a determined region of the country. The ideal candidate for this position will possess outstanding leadership, training, communication, and organization skills. They must demonstrate the ability to identify deficiencies in a mammography program. They then must have the skills to create meaningful curriculum and resources that address identified needs. The Training Director will provide regular updates on the status of the program to RadNet executive leadership. By working closely with the lead mammography technologists throughout the region, they will ensure that training is consistently delivered on proper patient positioning techniques and on the operation of the mammography systems. They will also provide training on quality assurance (QA) protocols and for the use of risk assessments and patient compliance tools. They will work collaboratively with all stakeholders to ensure that new technologists receive the training needed to build the confidence and skillsets required to excel in their roles. They will consistently deliver critical feedback to lead technologists in each imaging center to ensure continuous improvement in the RadNet Mammography Program.

Requirements

• Must have current ARRT(R) certification, and state license (for the Director’s home state) in diagnostic radiologic technology, and mammographic radiologic technology.
• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be familiar with basic systems in a mammography practice, including PACS, RIS, and mammography- specific reporting platforms.
• Familiarity with and the ability to use specialized mammography screening equipment, biopsy systems, and supporting network tools.
• CPR certification required.
• Maintain license and continuing education in accordance with state, federal, and regulatory agency rules and regulations.
• Ability to relate to the public in a professional and courteous manner, understanding the objectives of the organization and value of the screening mammography program.
• Ability to respond to emergency situations in a calm and appropriate fashion.
• The above knowledge, skills and abilities may be demonstrated by successful completion of an accredited program, state and federal licenses (as applicable), and appropriate registrations and/or certifications.
• Possesses and utilizes excellent customer service skills, strong written and verbal communications skills, course curriculum development, and training skills.
• Medical related skills/knowledge.
• Must be detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to interact effectively with doctors, patients, vendors, peers, leadership and staff.
• Must provide 40 initial hours of training or attestation if registered on or after 10/1/94.
• Past management and leadership experience strongly preferred.
• Must have the ability to communicate effectively with difference audiences; Technologists, Radiologists, Managers, Senior Leaders, representatives from the American College of Radiology, and members of the FDA .

Responsibilities

• Travel to RadNet sites to assess their overall training needs while creating programs and resources that enhance our effectiveness in mammography.
• Collaborates with lead technologists to develop efficiency standards for technologist workflow that ensures each imaging center meets or exceeds productivity measures and daily volume expectations.
• Assist in the creation of training programs to ensure that MQSA and ACR requirements including quality assurance, clinical image quality, and quality control are met throughout the region.
• Train the lead technologists on how to approach the image review process and how document corrective actions for poor image quality.
• Provide training to the lead technologists on risk assessment tools, patient questionaries, the use of state-of-the-art mammography and biopsy equipment, patient positioning techniques, and reporting systems
• Represent and communicate the unique vision and value of the RadNet Mammography program with its high-quality standards and advanced technology to all relevant stakeholders.
• Collaborate with leadership and the human resources departments, providing insights and feedback that will help these departments attract and retain the most talented candidates to fill open mammography technologist positions.
