About The Position

Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference. Job Summary Performs a variety of breast imaging procedures that require independent judgement, ingenuity and competency. Essential Functions All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's values: Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference. Obtains optimum quality breast images for radiologist interpretation while performing screening mammograms and diagnostic breast imaging studies. Assists radiologist during stereotactic and ultrasound guided biopsies. Assess patients through review of previous studies and history to determine screening versus diagnostic patients. Covers other functions in the department as deemed necessary. Provides radiation protection in accordance with proper standards as set by State and Federal boards, uses proper shielding, collimation and technical factors that minimize radiation exposure without affecting quality of images. Remains abreast of changes and new procedures by attending educational seminars or classes and reading job related material. Stays abreast of organizational, affiliate and departmental changes/updates by checking email on each shift. Performs other duties as assigned. Supervisory/Management Responsibilities This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.

Requirements

  • Education - Certification program - Radiologic Technology
  • Experience - No experience required.
  • SCRQSA certification (Required for team members working in South Carolina)
  • BLS
  • ARRT-Radiology and ARRT-Mammo Registered
  • Knowledge of office equipment (fax/copier)
  • Basic computer skills

Nice To Haves

  • Prior radiology experience preferred

Responsibilities
