About The Position

The Department of Urology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPM) in Madison, Wisconsin seeks a fellowship-trained urologist to provide state-of-the art treatments for male infertility and other urologic conditions, while advancing the field of urology and training the next generation of physicians. Madison, the capital city of Wisconsin, is situated on several scenic lakes, and is frequently cited as one of the best cities in which to live. This position requires work to be completed onsite, at a designated campus work location. This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations.  The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years. Applicants for this position will be considered for the following titles Assistant Professor, Associate Professor. The title is determined by the experience and qualifications of the finalist. Since the 1920s, the Urology Program at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health has had the tradition of providing technologically advanced urologic care for the people of Wisconsin and beyond. Today, we retain the principles of the past and have moved our efforts toward providing state-of-the-art urologic care for present and future generations. Our highly acclaimed program focuses on cutting-edge surgical care for adult and pediatric urologic patients while conducting innovative research and training the next generation of academic urologists. Our Department consists of all major subspecialties, including Urologic Oncology, Endourology, Men’s Health, Pediatric Urology, Women’s Pelvic Wellness, Andrology/Infertility, and Urinary Reconstruction programs.

Requirements

  • Completion of Urology Residency
  • Completion of Male Infertility/Andrology Fellowship by start date.
  • Candidates must have a strong history of academic accomplishment.
  • Must have or be eligible for a Wisconsin Medical License
  • Must have board certification or board eligibility in Urology through the American Board of Urology
  • Must be eligible for enrollment as a UW Health billing provider and all necessary hospital privileges.
  • MD or DO or equivalent degree

  • For an appointment at Associate Professor rank on Tenure Track, candidates will meet criteria established by the department and as outlined in the School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for promotion or appointment to Associate Professor on the Tenure Track.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health.
  • An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.
  • Teach medical students, residents, and fellows.
