About The Position

Griswold Home Care – Laguna Hills is currently hiring a male caregiver for an overnight shift (8PM–8AM) in Laguna Woods, CA. We are seeking a dependable, compassionate, and engaging professional to provide attentive care and ensure client safety throughout the night.

Requirements

• Male caregiver (required due to client preference)
• Must reside in the local area or within a 5-mile radius of Laguna Woods (per client request)
• Minimum 1 year of verifiable experience working with a licensed home care agency (required)
• Per client request: no private caregivers or family care giving experience will be considered- Must have home care experience and/or currently working with a home care agency.
• Must be willing and able to safely assist with transfers for a client weighing approximately 150–200 lbs (client can assist)
• Strong communication skills must be able to communicate verbally and in writing and accurately document care in English
• Friendly personality with a great sense of humor (client enjoys joking and engaging conversation)
• Must be able to stay awake and alert during entire shift
• Reliable, patient, and professional
• CPR/First Aid certification (required)
• Reliable transportation
• Must have an HCA ID # and eligibility letter through the CA Department of Social Services
• Current copy of TB results within the last year (and annually thereafter).
• At least 1-2 years of experience working with seniors in a home care setting is preferred
• Must be willing to learn about chronic conditions, or have experience/expertise in dementia or Alzheimer's-related diseases.
• A valid driver's license and car insurance are required, as transportation services are part of the job.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and become active on the California Home Care Registry.
• At least four professional references who can speak to your experience as a caregiver, along with two personal references.

Responsibilities

• Provide overnight supervision and ensure client safety
• Assist with toileting, mobility, and nighttime routines
• Reposition client as needed for comfort and care
• Assist with transfers as needed
• Monitor changes in condition and report to care team
• Perform light housekeeping related to client care
• Accurately document care provided during shift
