After training and tinkering, the “Makerspace Aide” is expected to be well-versed in 3D printing equipment, modeling software, electronic teaching kits, circuitry, and robotics. The position will participate in deployment of policies and procedures for Makerspace access and usage, departmental programs, and safety procedures. Makerspace Aides are expected to maintain and repair any makerspace equipment to the best of their abilities. Under the direction of the Makerspace Coordinator, the Makerspace Aide may provide a variety of instructional assistance to faculty, students, and community members. In the absence of the Makerspace Coordinator, Aides will be responsible for afternoon and evening operation of the lab. Training in all areas will be provided, but ideal candidates will have experience in at least one of the following areas: 3D printing, modeling, scanning, robotics, electronics, coding, STEAM lesson plan development, or academic outreach. The position requires a highly motivated, energetic candidate with attention to detail.
