What You Will Do: Raytheon Field Engineering is seeking Patriot Major Item Repairmen (MIR) to support Patriot operations in Miesau, Germany. The scope of the MIR will provide day-to-day execution and oversight of modification tasks for the Patriot Weapon system MEI’s. The MIR installs authorized third echelon modifications and provides day-to-day execution and oversight of the refurbishment and modification processes as well as demonstrate the ability to perform depot level diagnostic, fault isolation, cleanup and repair capability for PATRIOT Weapon System MEIs. The selected candidate must affect all electronic repairs on location with detailed system knowledge, the ability to use all of the hardware and software tools currently available to Organizational and Intermediate Maintenance. The MIR also monitors work performed by subordinates to insure it meets or exceeds established quality standards. In addition, the selected candidate will also perform inspections in accordance with applicable technical manuals and procedures. Other duties will include movement of materials and equipment to work locations, work site set up, completion of records, and maintaining accountability of tools and equipment. The MIR must observe and follow all safety rules and procedures, including wearing of required personal safety equipment. The selected candidate may be required to travel based on customer and program needs. Candidates for this position will be on a Long-Term International Assignment (LTIA) in Miesau, Germany.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of a Patriot System Intermediate Maintenance Course for MOS 27X/34S/94S/916A/918D or an equivalent course of instruction on a similar electronic system conducted by the military or the system contractor.
  • Demonstrated 5 years of Intermediate level maintenance experience in support of the PATRIOT Air Defense System.
  • This expertise includes but not limited to troubleshooting, fault isolation, repair, and functional verifications of the Patriot Air Defense system or similar electronic systems using maintenance diagnostics, unit self-tests, BITE, tools and available test equipment.
  • Trained and Knowledgeable in the operation, sustainment and troubleshooting procedures of the Patriot Missile System Radar.
  • Knowledge in the utilization of common industry external test equipment, such as multi-meters, oscilloscopes, power meters, frequency counters, spectrum and digital analyzers.
  • Demonstrated experience with Department of the Army Modification Work Order (DAMWO) installations, to include integration and checkout.
  • MUST HAVE CURRENT SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE, A VALID US PASSPORT, AND A US DRIVERS LICENSE.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity working in depot and field type environments.
  • Above qualifications plus five (5) years Patriot Depot Forward maintenance experience.
  • Knowledge with the operational/analytical software used on the Patriot System.
  • Experienced in using Engagement Control Station (ECS) troubleshooting software aids Status Monitor, Switch 9, System Exerciser and Radar Action Cycler, in order to distinguish between digital and analog problems.
  • Exceptional judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with special focus on achieving active participation of appropriate individuals across the business.
  • Demonstrated experience with training of team members.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Previous experience in International Patriot FMS Programs.
  • Experience living and working in an overseas location.
  • Demonstrated experience with Contractor Logistics Support.
