Reporting to the Executive Director of Development, the Major Gifts Director will have primary responsibility to raise philanthropic support from major gift and prospective donors. The position also requires the identification and relationship cultivation of new prospective donors. The Major Gift Director will focus on building relationships with donors and prospects with a capacity of $100,000 to $5,000,000. The Major Gift Director will be a key player in the execution of a successful grateful patient program and will work closely with physicians as assigned by the Executive Director of Development and approved by the Foundation President. The Major Gifts Director will build and manage an active portfolio of 50–125 prospective and current donors. With the support of the Executive Director of Development and the Strategic Research and Analytics Director, the Major Gifts Director will follow a strategy for identification, qualification, and relationship-building to close and steward major gifts of $100,000 and above. The Major Gift Director will develop a prospect pipeline through visits, events, correspondence, and regular calls as required for donors in the portfolio. The position calls for exemplary interpersonal skills, the ability to create strategic and donor-centric proposal concepts, and the ability to maintain excellent relationships with donors and top administrators while representing the mission of the organization with the utmost professionalism, trustworthiness, and commitment.
