Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of maintenance experience required; experience in a hospital or healthcare facility preferred.
  • Working knowledge of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment.
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulatory and safety standards, including those from The Joint Commission, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration preferred.
  • Basic computer skills for work order systems, maintenance tracking, and documentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, safety procedures, and maintenance instructions.
  • Ability to safely operate maintenance tools and equipment and perform physical tasks such as lifting, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces as required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance, inspection, and repair of hospital facilities and building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and utility infrastructure to ensure safe and reliable operations.
  • Execute preventative maintenance activities in accordance with the facility’s maintenance management program and regulatory standards.
  • Respond to maintenance service requests and work orders in a timely manner while minimizing disruption to patient care, clinical operations, and hospital services.
  • Assist with facility improvement projects including alterations, remodeling, minor construction, and equipment installation in compliance with hospital policies and safety procedures.
  • Support fire and life safety programs by participating in inspections, drills, and corrective actions in accordance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, preventative maintenance schedules, equipment inspections, and completed work orders.
  • Collaborate with Plant Operations leadership and other departments to ensure compliance with safety policies, emergency preparedness procedures, and applicable regulatory standards.
