About The Position

Provide quality customer service focused building maintenance, and support to ensure staff providing direct care and administrative services are supported by safe and welcoming physical spaces. Primary responsibilities include: Partner with Facility Manager to complete and plan maintenance work required to upkeep building, grounds systems and to in some locations, meet State Licensing requirements Perform general maintenance projects as scheduled or assigned, including installations and repairs involving plumbing and electrical equipment, grounds, carpentry work, painting, furniture/office moves, and equipment repair Respond to routine and emergency maintenance requests from programs for items needing repair in their buildings Travel to facilities in multiple west Michigan counties with own and/or company vehicle Maintain positive communications with internal customers and external vendors An openness to embrace and explore bias, equity issues, successes, and challenges from a place of understanding and curiosity, and the ability to provide maintenance and mechanical support in a welcoming and equity-focused lens, is needed to succeed and develop in the position /organization.

Requirements

  • One year of experience with building maintenance (painting, minor plumbing, minor electrical, carpet cleaning, pressure washing, etc.)
  • Knowledge of building equipment, building codes, and building systems
  • Flexible schedule, including availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Ability to respond quickly to emergency calls when on call after normal business hours
  • Physical ability to perform functions of the position
  • Ability to routinely lift 25-50lbs and occasionally lift up to 100lbs
  • Valid Driver’s License, current auto insurance and clean driving history
