About The Position

The Maintenance Worker will report directly to the Somerset Site Director and is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall condition of the office building and related facilities. This position involves carrying out routine cleaning duties, operating a variety of cleaning equipment, and ensuring a safe, well-kept environment. Additional tasks may be assigned as needed to support the efficient operation of the site.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED) AND a minimum of two years janitorial experience (preferred).
  • Detail-oriented and professional.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Basic understanding of power tools.
  • Proactive and takes the initiative.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and reliably.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks, including delegation of tasks when appropriate.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to reliable transportation

  • Mandated Reporter Training

  • Pennsylvania State Police Background Check (Criminal History)
  • Act 114 Clearance
  • FBI Fingerprint

  • Prolonged periods of standing, bending, stretching, and reaching.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 100 lbs. without assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Sweep, mop, wax, and polish floors.
  • Dust and polish woodwork, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Clean windows and walls.
  • Vacuum and spot clean carpets/upholstery.
  • Cleans and maintains supplies in restrooms.
  • Empties and cleans waste receptacles.
  • Picks up trash from grounds.
