About The Position

Hackley Community Care (HCC) is an award-winning community health center providing integrated healthcare services throughout Muskegon County. The Maintenance Worker plays a key role in maintaining the safety, functionality, and appearance of HCC facilities and grounds. This position is responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and equipment operation to ensure a clean, safe, and well-functioning environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience
  • High School Diploma or GED (or job-related education)
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English at a minimum 6th-grade level
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and perform basic math
  • Valid, clean Class B driver’s license (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and instructions

Responsibilities

  • Maintain facility grounds including snow removal, lawn mowing, tree and bush trimming, landscaping, and irrigation systems
  • Perform general building maintenance including painting, basic plumbing, electrical repairs, HVAC inspections, and minor system repairs
  • Inspect and maintain HVAC systems, including belts, bearings, and pumps
  • Operate and maintain facility equipment such as trucks, trailers, mowers, trimmers, and blowers
  • Use hand and power tools including saws, drills, sanders, routers, and pneumatic tools
  • Complete assigned work orders, preventive maintenance (PM) inspections, and safety checks
  • Assist with moving, loading, and storing furniture, supplies, and equipment
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Participate in fire drills, disaster drills, and respond to facility emergencies
  • Provide on-call support, including responding to after-hours and weekend maintenance needs
  • Communicate issues, concerns, and improvement suggestions to the Maintenance Manager
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
