About The Position

The Maintenance Worker is proactively responsible for the maintenance of BACS' properties. The position ensures all properties are in good condition and maintains responsibility for timely completion of all required repairs.

Requirements

  • A minimum of three years of property maintenance experience is required.
  • Maintains a customer service and strength-based orientation. Embraces diversity in all aspects.
  • Works well with others and behaves professionally and ethically while developing professionally.
  • Is adaptable and open to change and new information; adapts behavior and work methods in response to new information, changing conditions, or unexpected obstacles. Adjusts rapidly to new situations warranting attention and resolution.
  • Expresses facts and ideas orally in a clear and organized manner.
  • Well organized and moves efficiently.
  • Communicates verbally and in writing in English.
  • Ability to read a street map.
  • Position requires a valid California driver's license, personal vehicle, and proof of personal vehicle insurance coverage. DMV printout required.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures agency properties are maintained in good condition.
  • Performs general/routine maintenance, inspection, cleaning, major/minor repairs, and painting of furnished/vacant units and ensures the units are in good rental condition.
  • Consults and communicates with program staff regarding any tenant problems with regard to housing concerns, property maintenance, and property improvement issues on a weekly basis.
  • Arranges for estimates, oversees and/or performs all major repairs and emergency repairs authorized by the Property Manager.
  • Maintains vendor listing and works to identify county-wide, cost effective vendors for routine needs such as gardening, cleaning, etc.
  • Conducts monthly site inspections at BACS operated facilities and reviews findings with manager.
  • Attends all trainings as required.
  • Inputs and retrieves work flow through a maintenance ticketing system which tracks trends, usage, and needs.
  • Responds to all facility emergencies same day and all non-urgent maintenance requests according to standard.
  • Other duties as assigned.
