About The Position

General Definition of Work Performs work responsible for the maintenance of city parks, facilities and grounds for the City of Cape Girardeau. Essential Functions ● Performs mowing, trimming and other lawn care of facilities and parks including turf care and chemical application. ● Maintains and repairs equipment. ● Performs preventive maintenance of city parks and facilities. ● Provides oversight of part time staff when necessary. ● Performs landscaping and snow removal. Removes dead and hazardous trees. ● Removes trash. ● Cleans restrooms and shelters. ● Available to respond and work weekends and holidays, as needed. Participates in a weekend rotation to provide coverage of trash collection and shelter and bathroom cleaning. ● Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications ● Qualified applicants must possess a valid driver’s license. ● Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position.

Benefits

  • Salary per hour $16.04, plus a generous benefit package.
