About The Position

Love fixing what’s broken—and preventing problems before they start? The Maintenance Worker II is a key player in keeping our facilities safe, functional, and running at their best. In this role, you’ll tackle repairs, inspections, and installations, respond to Help Desk needs, and share your expertise by guiding a Maintenance Worker I. If you’re hands‑on, dependable, and ready to lead by example, we’d love to meet you.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of proven related and relevant facilities experience including some or all of the following:
  • Ability to read and understand architectural/mechanical/electrical drawings.
  • Knowledge of and ability to perform basic electrical wiring.
  • Knowledge of and ability to perform basic carpentry and cabinetry repairs.
  • Knowledge of and ability to perform basic plumbing repairs.
  • User-level knowledge of MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook).
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experienced forklift operator.
  • A collaborative and flexible style, with strong service mentality. Need to be seen as a team player.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to Help Desk requests and open/close maintenance tickets.
  • Perform scheduled repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, equipment, furniture, and fixtures.
  • Conduct routine inspections of buildings and grounds to ensure safety and functionality.
  • Perform preventive maintenance according to the established facilities program.
  • Inspect machines and equipment to ensure conformance with operational standards.
  • Repair and maintain building systems, including walls, concrete, drywall, flooring, roofing, plumbing, and electrical components.
  • Replace worn or defective parts such as hoses, wiring, belts, and filters on HVAC and other equipment.
  • Perform minor diesel generator maintenance, including weekly running and monthly load testing.
  • Assist with departmental furniture moves, supply unloading, and storage.
  • Dismantle and rebuild cubicle office setups as needed.
  • Requisition tools, materials, and equipment needed for maintenance tasks.
  • Work closely with vendors supporting facility infrastructure and monitor janitorial service performance, serving as the primary contact when assigned.
  • Recommend improvements to reduce operating costs and increase labor/material utilization.
  • Communicate effectively with Ministry personnel to resolve facility issues.
  • Maintain current knowledge and technical skills required for facility operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
