Maintenance Worker I

About The Position
Primary Purpose: Assist with room set-ups, mail delivery as needed, minor electrical, plumbing and carpentry repairs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED certificate, or industrial training on job related skills
- Maintain a Texas driver's license, commercial driver’s license and a clear driving record
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Three years previous experience
Responsibilities
- Responsible for meeting room set-ups.
- Take mail to post office, both daily and bulk mail as needed.
- Replace light bulbs throughout buildings.
- Repair minor plumbing problems such as leaking faucets, commodes, etc.
- Repair broken furniture.
- Check VAV's (variable air volume) and change filters as needed.
- Assist Maintenance Worker II and Maintenance Technician when necessary.
- Serve as relief for custodians as needed.
- Empty heavy trash in print shop a minimum of twice daily.
- Responsible for compliance with safety policy for self and other employees.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
