JOB SUMMARY: Under general supervision, to fabricate or repair and perform related work as required.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school and experience in welding trade or equivalent combination of education and experience that produces the following:
• Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the job.
• Knowledge of practices, methods, materials, tools and techniques used in the welding trade.
• Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade.
• Ability to read and write work-related job instructions in English.
• Ability to perform manual work requiring physical strength and stamina appropriate to the area of assignment.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and residents.
• Possession of a valid California driver's license.
• Ability to pass respiratory pulmonary function test and annual medical examination.
• Ability to pass qualitative and/or quantitative respirator fit test.
• Requires standing for periods of up to 5 hours and frequent lifting and/or carrying of up to 10 lbs. Occasional lifting and/or carrying of up to 50 lbs. and frequent balancing, crawling, crouching, grasping, kneeling, reaching and stooping with occasional climbing, feeling, pulling and pushing.
• Daily exposure to hazardous equipment and machinery which produces high heat.
• Occasional working at heights of up to 40 feet.
• Reading, reasoning, and verbal/written communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs all aspects of work pertaining to welding and fabricating.
• Diagnoses jobs and repairs as required on site locations at heights of up to 3 stories, working on ladders and scaffolding.
• Follows up on assigned service orders, corrects problems or refers to superior noting disposition.
• Drives a truck and maintains a truck inventory of materials and supplies.
• Regular Attendance Required.
• All duties performed on site for the Community.

• Maintains job time and materials used and assists other crews in maintenance during peak workloads as assigned.
