About The Position

ATI Richland is seeking a Maintenance Welder to join our team. This position will work a 4-day shift consisting of 12 hour days (time and half paid after 8 hours of each shift), Tuesday - Friday. The Maintenance Welder’s main responsibility is to make necessary repairs to manufacturing equipment and process. You will service various industrial machinery and equipment, industrial mobile equipment, and plant facilities. This specialized position adds the element of welding copper which will be taught on the job. To be successful in this position you will be detail oriented, organized to ensure accuracy, and have mechanical, troubleshooting, basic math, and computer skills. Safety is the company’s top priority and you will be expected to adhere to a strict zero injury safety culture. You may be required to work overtime may be scheduled for special project work as well. There are multiple work areas with multiple different pieces of equipment/machines/areas of the facility so physical activity would depend on what machine/equipment/area of the facility an employee is working on any given day.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • At least 1 year of Maintenance Mechanical experience; military, industrial, manufacturing, or heavy industrial mobile equipment repair.
  • Previous TIG Welding experience.
  • The ability to work overtime and come in when called for emergency/urgent repair needs.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, troubleshooting & organizational skills.
  • Basic math skills & computer skills.
  • Able to operate Industrial Mobile Equipment such as forklifts, man lifts, cranes, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in the metals industry preferred.
  • Previous experience operating Industrial Mobile Equipment (IME), especially forklift.
  • Strong safety knowledge preferred, including Lock Out/Tag Out and Confined Space.

Responsibilities

  • Welding activities to support plant maintenance.
  • Maintenance of machinery/equipment/facilities which will include mechanical, vacuum, hydraulic, pneumatic and water cooling.
  • Troubleshoot machinery/equipment/facilities to determine cause of operation problems.
  • Perform machinery/equipment/facilities installation and removal.
  • Operate Industrial Mobile Equipment (IME) operation including various sizes of forklifts, man lifts, and cranes.
  • Data entry/inventory tracking using a computer data system and filling out various. paperwork including work orders, various safety forms, purchasing forms, and other forms as necessary.
  • Shop clean up duties as required or needed including sweeping, organizing, cleaning surfaces, etc.
  • Maintain and help develop operating and maintenance records, logs and procedures.
  • Safety observations and various safety trainings including OSHA specific training as assigned.
