POSITION SUMMARY: Maintenance Trades Helper provides support and assistance to building maintenance staff. The work type is highly variable, will be accomplished under direct supervision from a skilled maintenance technician, and will be limited to support functions only.
Requirements
- 0-1 year of work experience preferably in construction or maintenance
- Ability to follow instructions, communicate effectively, and respond to questions and requests from customers and peers
- Human relations skills to build and maintain effective working relationships
- Basic mathematical skills and ability to read and interpret units of measure
- Flexibility to adapt to changing work priorities
- Ability to track materials resources and time
- Demonstrated organizational, problem solving, and common-sense skills
Responsibilities
- Assist building maintenance staff in procuring, obtaining, and preparing tools, equipment, and materials for specific planned maintenance tasks
- Schedule, coordinate, and escort subcontractor staff
- Assist with documentation, including sorting and filing of photographs, receipts, logs, checklists, and equipment lists
- Transport materials, documentation, tools and/or equipment between facilities
- Maintain equipment and material logs to ensure availability of required bench stock
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned
