About The Position

Alutiiq Logistics & Maintenance Services, LLC (ALMS) has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Trades Helper at Naval Air Station in Pensacola, FL. The Maintenance Trades Helper will watch gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure the equipment is working properly and will report any discrepancies to the supervisor. Additionally, the Helper will provide non-Journeyman assistance in the repair of trade equipment. Checks that engine has sufficient coolant, proper oil level, and sufficient fuel. Orders fuel to fill storage tank when it reads below three fourths full. Checks equipment for leaks and external damage. Starts generator to ensure proper start and run. Observes overall operation; 30 minutes run time. Checks operation of day tank float switch and pump. Checks meters and gauges for proper indications. Checks exhaust system and muffler for leaks or damage. Observe exhaust gas for indication of improper combustion (smell of raw fuel, excessive smoke, Shuts down generator; observe for proper time-delays. Add oil, anti-freeze, or water if needed Shuts down generator; observe for proper time-delays. Keeps logbooks up to date on all pertinent facts. Checks surrounding area for good appearance, dryness, cleanliness and accessibility Identifies and reports to Supervisor any discrepancies Leaves work area in a clean and safe condition Completes Work Orders and time sheets daily and accurately. Initiates material requisitions to order parts/materials needed for repairs. Work also involves other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Two years’ experience relevant to the power generation field
  • State of Florida Class “E” driver’s license or equivalent
