About The Position

The Pass & Seymour business of Legrand is seeking a Maintenance/Tool Room Intern for their Concord, NC office. This intern will support a variety of skilled troubleshooting, maintenance, modification and repair work on various plant equipment, including electrical and mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, HVAC and compressors. We are looking for someone who is highly motivated and detail-oriented. The intern will assist the Tool and Die Makers in planning their work and all the various stages to obtain completion of a job in a cost-effective manner. This includes cutting raw stock, milling, drilling, grinding, heat treating, finishing grinding, and EDM. The intern will work directly with engineers and other technical personnel to make changes in tooling and build jigs, fixtures, and gauges.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Some mechanical or trigonometry courses required.
• Experience as a Machinist or completion of machining courses.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Proficiency with computers.
• Extensive knowledge of PLC and machine automation and mechanical systems.
• Moderate knowledge of electrical systems up to 480v, combustion systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Intermediate reading and writing skills in English.
• Math skills, particularly in Trigonometry.
• Ability to work overtime when necessary.
• Ability to perform repetitive job functions including hand mobility, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
• Manual dexterity required for assembly and operating tools and machines.
• Ability to safely operate moving equipment without risk to self, others, and equipment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with SolidWorks.

Responsibilities
