About The Position

The Maintenance Technology Intern will work directly with the organization’s Maintenance Division. The intern will receive supervision and guidance from the Technical Training and Shop Maintenance Departments to complete their assigned projects. These projects were developed to improve the organization’s digital platform, solve operational difficulties, and cultivate the crucial skills learned in school.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled in a BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or other closely related field
• Availability to work full-time (40 hours per week) during the summer (late May through early August)
• Able to physically work onsite in Midland, TX
• Able to work 12-hour shifts
• Must have experience with 3D modeling software
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Has attention to detail; well organized
• Self-motivated, independent, and reliable with a strong work ethic
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to effectively communicate with personnel at all levels of the organization

Responsibilities

• Design, fabricate, test, and document assigned project
• Utilize appropriate measurement instruments to record dimensions of equipment
• Work with 3D software (Fusion 360, SolidWorks, etc.) to create accurate visuals of measured equipment
• Integrate 3D models into the organization’s digital environment
• Assist Technical Training Team in their content buildup
• Provide an end-of-program presentation that demonstrates results of assigned project
• Maintain compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies by attending all required HSE training sessions, safety meetings, and always utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Other duties as assigned
