About The Position

The Rentals Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and overall maintenance of the properties within the portfolio. This role ensures that the fieldwork is operating smoothly and efficiently, addressing any issues that arise promptly and effectively. The technician will perform a variety of tasks including routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Proven experience as a maintenance technician or in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
  • Proficient in using hand and power tools
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects

Nice To Haves

  • Technical degree or certification is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • Maintain and update maintenance records.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
  • Ensure all repairs are completed safely and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the home is clean, safe, and in good condition.
  • Perform general maintenance tasks such as painting, carpentry, and minor construction.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct safety inspections and address any hazards.
  • Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs and maintenance.
  • Communicate effectively with the Leadership and other team members.
  • Provide updates and reports on maintenance activities.
  • Maintain an inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are in good working condition.
