About The Position

The Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in supporting the property management and rental departments by ensuring the physical integrity, cleanliness, and functionality of our communities. This position is responsible for diagnosing issues, completing repairs, and delivering exceptional service in a timely and professional manner. The ideal candidate is proactive, technically skilled, and committed to upholding our core values.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on general maintenance experience.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Must possess reliable transportation and current auto insurance.
  • Own a set of tools necessary for general maintenance tasks.
  • Experience in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting, appliance repair, and turnover processes.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
  • Strong technical aptitude, including the use of smartphones and maintenance apps.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient use of smartphones and technical/computer systems.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and a high standard for cleanliness and presentation.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to follow instructions and complete work accurately and efficiently.

Nice To Haves

  • EPA and trade certifications (HVAC, Electrical, etc.) are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance and repairs in residential units and common areas.
  • Diagnose and repair problems involving: Drywall (repair and installation), Flooring (installing and repairing), Plumbing and electrical systems, Locks and carpentry
  • Assist with unit turnovers, including painting and appliance repairs.
  • Maintain the overall appearance, cleanliness, and safety of the property.
  • Respond to work orders and maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
  • Communicate effectively with the property management and rental teams.
  • Document all work performed via smartphone or designated property management systems.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance.
  • Maintain tools, supplies, and equipment in a safe and organized manner.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations and company policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
