About The Position

Optimus Health Care—the largest provider of primary health care services in Fairfield County—is looking for dedicated professionals to join our team! With multiple locations in Bridgeport, Stratford, and Stamford, our mission is to be a lifelong health care partner, dedicated to achieving optimal wellness for the communities we serve. Optimus Healthcare is looking for a full-time Maintenance Technician with three years of related facility experience to join our team. This position will have responsibilities at all of Optimus sites. POSITION SUMMARY Under the supervision of the Facilities Manager, the Maintenance Technician performs typical maintenance tasks to support the smooth operation of OHC. Also, the Facilities Technician performs related work as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be able to perform but not limited to the following skills: carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical (assist electrician), machine repair, painting, and janitorial.
  • Required to be familiar with and use all hand tools and power tools common to the skills listed and be well versed in the disciplines mentioned above.
  • Required to use considerable judgment when performing and planning to perform his / her tasks.
  • Knowledge of safety practices and hazardous conditions to provide a safe work environment.
  • Skill in exercising independent judgment.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining working relationships with staff and patients.
  • Ability to work effectively with vendors and staff
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • High school or technical school education
  • Minimum of (3) years of facility related experience in a maintenance role in a health care organization.
  • Basic Math Skills

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all OHC facilities are comfortable, clean, safe, sanitary, and conducive to delivery of quality patient care.
  • Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the Facilities Manager.
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
  • Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on machinery and the building or grounds as required.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Flexibility and ability to travel between sites as needed
