About The Position

Our history dates back to 1905, when we began to produce castings in Elyria, Ohio, for the machine tool, gas engine and other industries. Our Hodge Foundry location began operation in 1876 and built a reputation for quality casting from its Greenville, Pennsylvania location. The two foundries joined to form a single company in 2008, which is today known as Elyria Foundry. Position: Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician

Requirements

  • Industrial manufacturing knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, uses and repair/maintenance.
  • Industrial manufacturing Knowledge of materials, methods and tools involved to make equipment repairs including the ability to use either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes.
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Willingness to jump in an learn
  • High school diploma or GED

Nice To Haves

  • Journeymen Certificate or equivalent preferred
  • OSHA ARC Flash Training preferred
  • Heavy manufacturing experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring and mechanical related equipment and fixtures in accordance with code compliance using hand and power tools
  • Diagnose and repair malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment.
  • Inspect electrical systems to identify hazards, defects for adjustment and repair.
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using ohmmeters, voltmeters and oscilloscopes to ensure compatibility and safety of systems.
  • Troubleshoot for proper mechanical operation of equipment and ensure safety systems, guarding, handrails, etc. are in place and functional

  • Communicate across various levels of the organization to achieve departmental goals.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing team to ensure production conformity.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
